CATALYST LAUNCH THIRD COHORT OF INCLUSIVE INNOVATION PROGRAMME
~ Forward-thinking businesses urged to get involved with Stryve Programme ~
Northern Ireland science and technology hub, Catalyst has officially launched the third cohort of its inclusive innovation programme and is calling for even more businesses to partner with the initiative.
Stryve, which is designed to remove barriers to employment for young people aged 16-25 in Belfast and Derry~Londonderry, offers the opportunity to gain valuable skills, qualifications and experience with various businesses.
Through tailored work placements, Stryve connects forward-thinking businesses with young people who have the potential to become tomorrow’s innovators and leaders but find themselves furthest from opportunity. The two-year programme, which began in 2023 has welcomed 30 young people through its pathway, with many now in full-time employment or education.
Gearing up for its third cohort, Catalyst is calling for new and existing businesses to get involved and support the participants, who are eager to gain new skills and experience in innovation, entrepreneurship and creative problem solving. Partnering companies will be asked to provide tailored work placements, hands-on learning, real-world experience with an empathetic and welcoming approach, designed to foster and unlock participant’s potential.
Funded by the International Fund for Ireland, Catalyst leads this programme with the support of key partners including the Rio Ferdinand Foundation, Department for the Economy, Belfast City Council and Derry and Strabane District Council as well as local youth organisations such as Holywood Family Trust and St Columbs Park House.
Ally Armstrong, Stryve Programme Manager, Catalyst said: “At Catalyst we believe in opportunity for all through world leading innovation and Stryve is part of our commitment to fostering a thriving, diverse innovation ecosystem in Northern Ireland.
“We are so proud to provide a pathway for young people who may not have felt they belonged in traditional education or employment pathways, but are eager to learn, grow and contribute. I would encourage any business who feels they have an innovative vision to partner with us and help us transform the lives of these deserving young people through collaboration and innovation.”
Catalyst is an independent, non-profit science and technology hub focused on fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in Northern Ireland.
